In October 2010, I planned on attending the 3rd Annual Financial Literacy Leadership Conference in Washington DC and be part of an expert panel on financial literacy opportunities. I guess for many of you who don’t know I spend a good deal of time traveling around the country educating adults about personal finance in the work place. Yes, there is a good ryhme and reason in doing so and in the past 2 years we’ve gathered enough personal stories that show how our program has made an impact that ties into a business case and opportunity for many organizations.

I had the opportunity to listen to the personal story and passion of the Treasurer of the United States, Rosie Rios, commitment regarding financial literacy.
After the keynote address, I was suprised to hear my name called out for my vision and dedication to spearhead financial literacy in the workplace. I received an award which was amazing.

Then I did what I came to do and educated other financial literacy leaders about the program we’ve created with Tyco Electronics and our plans for the future. Yes, this is me commanding the stage!
